The Dubois Rodeo is a fun, family-friendly event held every Friday night from mid-June to mid-August. The rodeo is about a 40 minute drive from the ranch, but guests who go think the drive is well worth it. Rodeo visitors will see all the major events: barrel racing, team roping, break away roping, saddle-bronc riding, bareback riding and of course, bull riding. The community takes the rodeo quite seriously, and people travel from up to 4 hours away to take part. As a result, the level of talent is quite high for a town of 900 people!
Friday night out at the lively little rodeo in Dubois was one of the many highlights of our Bitterroot vacation. We especially loved rooting for our own home ranch team in the ribbon race competition. So much fun! Danielle, New Mexico
For ranch guests interested in participating in the rodeo, there are opportunities for children and adults alike. Kids can take part in the stick horse race, and ambitious folks are welcome to register for the ribbon race competition, during which teams of three chase a calf and attempt to remove the ribbon tied to its tail.
